I love words. Weird, strange, odd, obscure words. So I enjoyed finding out that that the Oxford English Dictionary has launched a website aimed at keeping moribund english language words in use. The page uses flash to encourage you to explore new words, which you are then invited to 'adopt'. All very silly, but quite fun. I particularly enjoyed Hymnicide.
Moribund words hmmm Sure, death is the buzz word of late, but do words ever die out? Aren't words immortal - after all, they can always be revived? As for hymnicide, sounds decidedly modern and fashionable to me. Great marketing by OED - would love to see the website if you have a link - thanks!
