Julio the Sewer Diver

Topmost horrible and scary job of the year award must go to Julio the Sewer Diver - a guy who spends his days being lowered, sightless, into the black depths of Mexico City's sewers, in order to feel his way along the flooded tunnels and clear away blockages of human waste and dead bodies. Fascinating interview with the chap over at superblog Edible Geography

Whatever he's paid, he earns it.

Bur he's got a friggin' DIVER'S SUIT on - sorry, but, I dunno, maybe he IS a hero, but I bet he's still nice and clean and smelling of Johnson's Baby Powder when he gets out of that suit at the end of a day...

Curiously icky job. Wonder how much he spends on after shave.
