I've been using twitter for the last two weeks as part of something work related, and I have to say, I'm still left very underwhelmed. For those of you who have yet to feel the urge to join in, here's my verdict - don't bother! So far all that I've encountered is other businesses - who have all been sold the idea of twitter as a way of reaching customers, but who don't seem to have found any actual customers to deal with. My entire friends list so far consists of other businesses like mine, all frantically milling around in the twitter vacuum and all transmitting sales pitches rather than 'valuable insight'. Not impressed. I wonder how many other people have had a similar experience to mine and just given up? Makes me wonder if it will continue being seen as a useful way of reaching consumers, and will instead just become a way of various industries to connect with each other via an open forum.

I gather it's useful as a news feed - for politics stories or sleb-following. Other than that it does seems bollox.

Are you a ruminant on twitter, I shall look you up! I seem to have plenty of followers, though not sure how that translates into business.

susan - I thought you might be a twitterer - unfortunately I am not on twitter as myself - I actually post as a TV celebrity person, with their permission (very weird I know)

Actually, I'm not a twit either, as a couple of girls do most of the posts for me...
