Ate some Jerusalem artichokes last night, slow roasted in lemon and thyme. First time I have ever eaten them, their flavour was exceptional - creamy and nutty, somewhat like a cross between perfect roast potato and a roast parsnip. Unfortunately, further events have led me to now state catagorically that this was my first and last experience of their charms. Why did no-one warn me?? The Horror.
