A little while back I posted some pictures by David Maisel. As I'm too busy to post anything else today, here's some more, this time of poisoned mining lakes in the californian desert. I love the geometry of the bisecting lines (very Nazca) and the luminous malachite greens are real purdy too. How he gets the colours to zing like this is beyond me
Hmm, fields of colour, not bad. I might have them on my wall, if I owned a very smart cafe with all-white walls (but nowhere near the poisoned mining lakes of California).
ReplyDeleteI see you set yourself quite stringent art-ownership parameters there Gadjo! :D
ReplyDeleteMy missus, who comes from a family of photographers, reckons he uses tinted lenses. I hope he doesn't as it would spoil it for me.
ReplyDeleteWord verification: hidab, to pick out highlights in casual fashion.

Worm, yes I suppose I do rather, I do hope I don't end up annoying you with them! My father was also photographer and I could really see the pleasure of the process, but I'm afraid I always yearn for paint on canvas.
ReplyDeleteOf course your views wouldn't be annoying Gadjo! I was only being tongue in cheek! Your wish list hinges on having a white cafe wall to hang stuff on - mine is having a huge boardroom wall behind my massive hedgefund power desk, ....something which I assure you is never going to happen!
